Lean Change Element

Perspective

We help people understand that everyone expresses themselves differently and to "get curious" instead of "furious"

Perspective

Perspective vs traditional thinking

Two different assumptions about how change should work.

Lean Change

When having meaningful dialogue, we need to consider everyone's perspective before deciding how to move forward.

Traditional Change Management

It's important to consider other people's perspective, but we still have to get this change done.

You've probably noticed a theme of perspective-related metaphors, models and tools throughout this site. It's common sense, but often overlooked.

The only way we'll truly find the right way forward is to help people see each other's perspective. This isn't about us, the change agents, sifting through different perspectives and deciding what to do, it's about helping people see what other people see so they can come to, at best, agreement, or a good enough compromise.
