Blame
We enter a BLAMING stance when we value SELF and the CONTEXT, but forget about the OTHER.
Blame vs traditional thinking
Two different assumptions about how change should work.
Lean Change
Blame is a natural humanistic trait. It's not helpful for solving problems so once the emotional reaction wears off, we should discuss what happened.
Traditional Change Management
Who's responsible for this? Someone needs to be blamed for what went wrong.
Blame is as old as human existence. The word gets tossed around everywhere, but we rarely stop to think about what it means.
The argument can be made that blame is a response that appeals to someone's sense of status. When we blame people, we immediately feel superior to them. When we blame ourselves, we feel inadequate or foolish. This can be a result of self-esteem issues or other problems.
