Understanding People
There are personality traits and types. All of these are tools to help you understand yourself and others.

Understanding People vs traditional thinking
Two different assumptions about how change should work.
Lean Change
Everyone responds to change at different rates and intensities, therefore our approach to change should be customized to how people are affected.
Traditional Change Management
People move collectively through phases of change, it's impossible to accommodate every individual throughout the change.
Humans are finicky creatures. Over the previous decades, and centuries, people have come up with a variety of theories to try to understand what makes people tick.
There are plenty of models available to help you make sense of what you see when people are reacting to change. The trick is to not use these models to classify people into boxes. The goal is to explore what people need from the change because they all react to change differently.

There is no "right" leadership style. The key is diversity. The difference in perspective between leaders who think differently creates positive tension.
StrongSuits® uses playing cards and games to get people talking about how they respond to change and how they prefer to communicate and be communicated with around the change. It’s specifically designed to build psychological safety and bring all voices into the room.
