Empathy
When we don't see change happening we seek to understand why from the people affected by the change

Empathy vs traditional thinking
Two different assumptions about how change should work.
Lean Change
We continually explore how people are reacting to the change and we are always willing to change the change.
Traditional Change Management
We empathize with those affected by the change, but the change needs to get done no matter what.
Empathy helps us have meaningful connections with people. Traditional change management uses terms like urgency and resistance and both imply that the change is more important than the people.
Sometimes we forget that people have day jobs. They're not thinking about the change 100% of the time like we are. When we try to create urgency in others, or change others' mindsets, or blame them for resisting, we're lacking empathy.
