Lean Change Element

Flow

When using a PULL based approach to change, using a FLOW process helps you focus on the NOW view without losing sight of the NEXT and BIG views.

Flow vs traditional thinking

Two different assumptions about how change should work.

Lean Change

Let's focus on the three most important things we need to do first to show progress towards the change.

Traditional Change Management

We need to get the schedule and sequence of change tasks done up front so we can share the full plan.

It sounds intuitive, and logical, to plan out all the change tasks at the start of the project. We find safety in the plan, but it's the act of planning that sets our minds at ease, not the plan itself.

Sometimes people perceive an agile approach as being one of little to no planning, which isn't correct.
